Derek Westby earned his Master of Architecture and Master of Urban and Regional Planning degrees from the University of Colorado Denver. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Minnesota, with a Bachelor of Arts in Geography and minor in Architecture.

Derek’s professional background covers a wide range of residential projects, including multi-family, single-family, custom and affordable housing. He has also worked on various hospitality, restaurant, mixed-use and civic projects, in addition to his passion for planning and urban design. Along with his LEED accreditation and involvement with the Urban Land Institute, Derek is also an avid participant in volunteering and giving back to the community, and an award-winning sand sculpture designer.
